Education and Training

I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University in 2016 and have been a licensed psychologist since 2018. I completed my internship at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center where I was trained to provide two gold-standard treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress: Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Following completion of my degree, I worked across both private practice and a hospital-based intensive outpatient setting to complete my post-doctoral training.

I have a long history of utilizing evidence-based and best practices across various populations and presenting problems, and have worked in private clinics, university settings, in community-based settings, and in military settings.

Therapeutic Approaches

My approach to therapy is individualized and client-centered, integrating theoretical orientations such as:

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
  • Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)

I value a collaborate approach, bringing together the best of my knowledge and expertise with your own lived experience, strengths, and abilities to help you achieve your goals.

My clients have described my style as authentic and warmly caring. I often use humor in session, as I find it helps us find an easier way through the difficulties of the work we do in therapy.
